He didn't want him to have a life where he had to hunt for blood or being hunted for what he is, a lonely life where he had to live in the shadow and watch his love ones die of old age. So he chose to walk away, leaving Jungkook behind, hoping one day the boy will forget about him and find the true love of his life.
But Jungkook chose otherwise.
