I'd say Faith counts as a crossover too ;)
Too bad we didn't see Snyder again. That would have been awesome. Either way, great season.
I don't like Kenedy and I think Willow could do better ... but to be fair: Lightning struck twice with Oz and Tara. What were they supposed to do?

Thanks for all the time you put into this in addition to the time it took to simply watch the show. I hope you have a chance for full rewatches at some point. The number of stories woven into seven seasons is pretty amazing. The writers who wrote them, the characters and the actors who portrayed them and everyone who played a part in putting it all together just worked so well, IMO.
I love how the writers didn't explain it all but left things for viewers to figure out. (For some reason I even love how long it took me to understand the main point of the show and even longer to actually see some of the stories they were telling.)
I love the big things like dueling themes stretching across multiple seasons and the little things like Giles returning to Sunnydale in βBring On The Nightβ with mini-me versions of Buffy, Kendra and Faith. And how I could keep on listing things that I love.
She deserves, it. Yeah go to the Hellmouth for Holliday. Hope she is just Happy. Giles??? I love Anthony H. But again, Wht the ***!!? With his own Punk ATTITUDE. At least he remained there for everyone, at the end. The iconic, THE WORLD IS DOOMED.
I found your reactions and this Patreon in the middle of season 5, and it has been such a joy to rewatch my favorite show βwithβ someone watching it with a fresh set of eyes. I have discovered or rediscovered things about the series by experiencing it with you, which is amazing because Iβve probably seen Buffy beginning to end somewhere in the double digits. A decade long relationship with my now-ex started because of this show (and our friendship continues in part because of it, too, Iβd wager.) I was a young boy scared of my sexuality and weirdness when I found Buffy in 2001 or so. I found my voice, sense of humor, passion for justice, and a self reliance because of this show. So to experience it all again with you has been a delight - thank you, Liam!

Whahahaha! Liam, you did it again. I knew you were going to do something at the end, similar to that "Am I done?" at the end of season one of Angel. I wasn't sure what it was going to be, but I knew there would be a gut punch at the end. And as soon as you said "Goodbye to you," I cried. LOL
Love these reviews. Love, love how insanely long they are, love in depth and passionate you are about this show. I watch so many reactors, and there are new ones all the time, so I imagine that if the shows you are doing aren't my favorite I will eventually have to leave purely for budget reasons, but when that time comes, I will be sad. I will hold on for as long as I can.
I agree with what you said about The First as the end of series villain. It always felt profoundly right to me as well that The First Evil was the Big Bad for the final season of the show. It always came across as this brilliant masterstroke. What's really interesting to me is how well they pulled it off, not just because of how intriguing and scary it was, but because, as an all powerful, limitless villain, in the hands of less experienced writers, The First could have come off as a completely generic, mustache twirling villain with no real weight to it, and instead, it was terrifying and cool and so interesting. I think that worked so well, in large part, due to the acting abilities of those who The First impersonated. When The First took on all those villains from each season at the start, I loved how each person who showed up sounded exactly right. The Mayor WAS the Mayor. Glory WAS Glory. Adam WAS Adam. The Master WAS the Master. Dru WAS Dru.
"Of course she won't understand, Sparky. I'm beyond her understanding." - Warren
"You know, I honestly don't think there is a human word fabulous enough for me." -Glory
"I can be patient. Everything is well within parameters." - Adam
"The soul is slipperier than a greased weasel. Why do you think I sold mine?" - Mayor Wilkins
"You'll always be mine. You'll always be in the dark with me. Singing our little songs." - Drusilla
"Look at you. Trying to do what's right. Just like her. You still don't get it. It's not about right. It's not about wrong." - The Master
"It's about power." - Buffy
Aside from obvious things like stellar dialogue and unbeatable characterization, I think that one of the show's greatest strengths is its ability to take characters to some incredibly dark places, sometimes pushing them to where they seem to go almost too dark, and then still bringing them back so that we love them again. They did it with Willow. They did it with Spike. They did it with Andrew. They did it with Faith. This show may not have been perfect, but it is one in a million, and that is why it has stood the test of time. That is why, over twenty years later, it is still loved the world over. There will never be another show like it. Ever.
Thank you for giving us the chance to share this journey with you, Liam. Know that you are wonderful. You are loved. You are special. And you are epic. Until next time...
Goodbye to you.
