Morning in the Cabin - Josh ❤️ Kyoko - The Film Student, #42

The sunbeams streamed in through the windows. Josh cursed out the sun. He was still tired, dazed, and hungover.

Where am I? What had happened last night? How did I get to this strange cabin, and why are there chainsaws, whips, and chains on the floor?

Oh, yeah... My insane classmate shackled me and took me here...

There she was sleeping next to him. Josh felt his heart melt. He loved that little psychopath.

Josh decided to get up and make coffee for her. He'd push through his throbbing headache. He located the drip coffee machine on the kitchen counter. He opened the cupboards and searched for coffee beans. Hidden in the back of one cabinet was a burlap sack that smelled of an enticing nuttiness and vanilla. Josh opened it. There were the raw, unground coffee beans. Another cabinet had a hand-driven coffee grinder. Josh took it out onto the front porch and ground the beans in the beautiful morning light.

He heard birds chirping and cocks crowing somewhere in the distance. No cars, billboards, or vestiges of modernity could be seen from his vantage point--just tall trees and mountain ridges and peaks going off into the distance. Josh felt lucky he knew Kyoko, someone who could bring him on an adventure to a calming place like this. Dominant women make a boring boy's life exciting.

He put the coffee on and kept looking around the kitchen, finding a wicker basket full of eggs, and a portable gas stove. Kyoko really has this place well-stocked. He whisked the eggs and started cooking them.

Kyoko raised her arms and sat up. "What's that smell?" she asked.

"I'm making eggs."

He brought a plate of hot scrambled eggs and a mug of coffee over to Kyoko and put them on the table by the side of the bed.

"Oh, Josh, you are so sweet!" Kyoko put her arms around him and pulled him in close. "But I don't want to eat in bed. I want to eat on the front porch."

"But there's no table."

"Yes, there is."

"Oh, I didn't see it."

Josh carried her eggs and coffee out but didn't find a table to place them.

"See, I thought. Let me bring a table out from inside."

"No, silly," Kyoko said. "Get down on your hands and knees."

Josh wondered what she was doing, but he complied and didn't question her. She took the plate and put it on his back and moved the wooden chair next to him.

"You're my table!"
