Did you know it’s #MensHealthWeek!
Yes ! we as men are terrible at showing any signs of vulnerability and weakness, so much that we would literally choose to die before we consider seeing the doctor! Be it physical or mental health - men simply prefer to put things off and end up often putting our lives at needless risk/needless worry.
However this week (coincidentally) I decided to say
“not today Death - not today”
and checked myself at the doctors (yesterday) for an issue that all men may have encountered before.
I recently discovered a lump on one of my testicles and whilst not strictly too concerned I felt it unwise to not get it looked at.

So I went to the doctor, stripped and let him fondle my balls for a bit. He decided to send me off to get my balls scanned - which will identify exactly what the lump was. So off I went to a medical imaging clinic where once again I had to strip and let a lady doctor rub lubricant all over my balls and ultrasound them. It was a comfortable experience, it took about 40 minutes and they were very thorough with scanning every inch of my balls.

Today I got a call from the doctor to say the reports in so let’s go through it together. He sat me down and read through the report for me explaining everything. Everything is fine they discovered a few anechoic cysts which are non-specific in nature and benign. Nothing to be concerned about and no surgery required.
I even get a copy of all my scans! So i can really admire my balls in intimate detail :D

All this literally took less than 24 hours from the point of contacting my doctor. Had I have just left it to fate I would have most likely just had to worry about it.
99% of testicular cancer cases are treatable if your catch it early - so why wouldn’t you check it out if you notice something different? Your testicular health should never be ignored! So check them out often and don’t be embarrassed to see the doctor if you discover anything abnormal. Never will you ever need another excuse to play with your balls, or better have someone else check your balls for you!

How best to examine you balls? Well I created a little guide to help you if you're not familiar with how to do it. However there are much better guides out there. Disclaimer: I am not medically trained as such all this advice is just taken from past experience.. Within doubt you must and should contact a your doctor.
