CLASSIC KENTARO FROM THE ARCHIVES

Artists are never comfortable looking at their own works from the past! How I used to draw and how I draw now differs greatly! Certainly this used to be one of my favorite pieces! And I'm glad I'm able to dig this up from the archives including some never seen before gifs!

The techniques that I used to use were very different from the skills I use today. I used to use a combination of Adobe illustrator (lines) and photoshop (painting). However I hated that process! Using vectors whilst producing some incredibly smooth lines also produced lines with no character. I was unsatisfied with this and moved to drawing completely in photoshop.

The time spent on the pieces back then was completely different too. Back then I was able to spend weeks working on a piece - slowly polishing and amending it as I pleased. Obviously this is not possible now - and I set myself much shorter time limits. There needs to be that balance.

I've started a new redraw version of this image with how Kentaro looks now! heres a working in progress - It should be finish this later this weekend and hopefully I can do the same animation with it later on!
