All too often i get too dependent on the use of colour - sometimes in excess.
Its really easy to underestimated simply how expressive Black and White photography can be as a medium to convey form. Coupled with the use of a 50mm lens it can be incredible challenging to focus your shots - seriously the range of focus is so limited you just drift a little closer or further away from the camera and the entire picture is just blurry!
In addition i decided to wear a traditional fundoshi for this shoot! I really think it adds so much to expressing my Asian heritage! If you can pull it off wearing one and look good in one i suggest investing in a good strong durable fundoshi!

I simply love capturing those curves in a human body using lighting! I think its a super important thing is not look at the body as a something that is just sexual or simply indecent. A lot of people just look at nudes and think it's something for the wankbank! But that's totally not the point of photography! Its about the admiration for the human body and paying homage by tracing those lines and curves in order to capture something interesting, in this case its about capturing Asian masculinity.
My Favorite shot has to be this one:

The way the side rim lighting really captures the shapes and form were so satisfying. The twists of the fundoshi also really compliments the photo by adding beautiful twirls of textures which breaks up the smoothness of the organic human form! I personally think its the ultimate item to wear for body shoots!
I've managed to save a lot of behind the scenes coloured images for Best of Lens coming up next week so stay tuned for that if you wanna see more!
Thanks you so much for your support - its been an incredibly busy and challenging month.
More to come real soon
