They can stretch his contract using amnesty clause between 12-15 mil annually over 3 or 4 yrs for the player option of 47 mil. The problem would be that 12-15 mil will be dead money counting towards the cap, which could be a difference to signing another star player to the lakers or high level player but we'll see.
