Homecoming Remix Key Takeaways

Here are some of the key takeaways from a walkthrough I did for my remix of 'Homecoming' by Above & Beyond. The remix was originally a bootleg of the full ambient mix that I sent to A&B's team. They liked it enough to send me the stems and then release it as an official remix! It was a very serendipitous situation, though they had already reached out months earlier about doing a remix to one of their club songs, so the situation wasn't a complete surprise. I wasn't totally gelling with their club tracks in my studio so I'm glad I was still able to take advantage of the amazing opportunity!
In this video, I cover all the main aspects of the track, including how I added to the main lead to make it a bit more memorable and hooky, as well as my thoughts about layering and transitions. I also briefly cover all of the sound design behind the bass. Enjoy!
