Studio Feed: Starting from Scratch #2 Pt. 3

I start this one off by layering a pan drum sound over the piano chords. I think this is when the song really started to take shape. I then continue messing around with strings to see how I can further build up the chord progression so that it might be able to grow and develop over the eventual arrangement.
At around 20 minutes I start dragging stuff out to begin arranging, as well as defining different phases of each element and how they'll progress. That basically goes on for the rest of the session, with a lot of random adjustments, small additions, etc. that occur to me as I arrange.

Yeah, since I'm full time, I do often treat it like a 9-5 and will work for 3-4 hours at a time with breaks for food, exercise, meetings, etc. When I was part-time I definitely would squeeze in time whenever I could though
