2025-03-22 05:49:18 +0000 UTCI do cry every time a new Monster Hunter releases. I cry tears of unbridled joy (though they were quickly snuffed out when I played Rise). My all time favorite game series. I've played every single western releases, and even one that wasn't. If I had the time, I'd totally even get into Frontiers. I always laugh at everyone else's salt at new releases, because I always know that so much stuff is gonna get added for free, and various patches will come out, that overall the game is gonna be totally different by its end, in the best way possible. I do get sad though when my favorite monsters don't make a return appearance. I'm hoping Capcom releases a seriously huge amount of classic monsters in the title updates, and in the eventual expansion. There's almost no excuse to have as few classics as they do, considering Wilds takes place in the Old World (in an unexplored region). I was insanely happy when they brought Blangonga back. Absolutely my favorite ape monster. I do wish that the ice biome wasn't a bunch of cliffs though. I REALLY wanted Gammoth back. Most interesting mammalian monster they've made in a long time. We need more badass mega-herbivores! Speaking of herbivores. I'm seriously pining for Monoblos. He has rarely appeared in the games compared to Diabolos, despite being an original classic, and the definitive legendary monster in old lore that can make a hunter a hero by defeating one. It's my all time favorite monster, and I vastly prefer it to its two horned cousin. Give me my Styracosaurus wyvern!
