On to 2022

Hi, hope you had a nice christmas, if you celebrate it.

If it isn't obvious already, my last estimate on the release date was pretty optimistic. But what's more is that I ended up making a change to the project, one that's causing me quite a bit of extra work.

My original intention was to do the "intimacy mode" scenes in a similar way to the scene that's already in the game, just in such a way that I could use the same animation for several different characters. But once I realized that such an approach would cause some problems, I ended up changing my plan to a system that would cause even more, but that'll definitely be more engaging in the long run - a procedural animation system.

What that means is that animation is created in real time based on a given set of instructions and constraints. There's a demonstration video attached of the system in it's (still wip) state. I'm not sure if such a system has been used in any other (2d) h-game - I haven't seen any myself, at least. I think it'll be very interesting, expecially once I get more sexual acts added to the system. 

So creating this system has taken quite a lot of time, because of the troubleshooting it has required. The math involved isn't very complex, but there's enough of it for me to mess up, and some trial and error is needed to get things looking the way I want. It's not all bad news regarding the schedule though, since everything else that goes into the next build is done. It's just a question of finishing up intimacy mode and then integrating all the new stuff into a playable build.

Creating the gui, and the graphics for the new party member, will be the biggest tasks to complete for the intimacy mode. I'm not gonna give any estimates since I haven't made an accurate one yet, but It'll be more than a week until release, more likely more than two.
