Art Update 6/23

Thanks so, so, so much for still being here, offering support, for so long, with no word from me.
I've been in retreat, tryin' to heal and so on. I guess I'm something of an art-make person after all, because during all of that, without really meaning to, I've still been making some art here and there. A lot of it was on paper or on whiteboards or otherwise lost to time, but after putting together just what was easy to put together, it turned out that I had a little mound of a little bit of art, which I've collated for y'all's perusal if you like.
I'm not sure if I'm ready to say 'hey y'all I'm back!' in that I am not coming in with a hot new project or a new life direction that'll see me making constant content updates, but some things *are* in the works I am pretty sure. I've been experimenting with the idea of a zine format, I'm finding the 'fun' in art again a bit, there's always some nifty new technique to try (color mapping as a sketching tool is the latest for me). So in the near future I will probably dump more art, and resume figuring out like... where you post art these days that isn't currently on fire. By then I might have like... ideas or projects or something.
Thanks again. Really. I've been saying it in my head this entire time, and now it's in text and art form.

Heya, your twitter is dead. If I lose you here I think I'll lose contact entirely. I'd suggest making an account on a mastodon or other fediverse instance, or on bluesky. Most artists seem to have been moving to bluesky - although I think an art-friendly fediverse instance will be less likely to get your account purged. Here's hoping you're still alright.

Art shouldn't be a chore! Not sure what specifically you're healing from, but I will empathize all the same. Because you aren't alone. For 'where to post art that isn't on fire,' I can suggest Mastodon instances. A lot use baraag, but any instance with a policy that is amenable would work. And newgrounds - but note that on newgrounds, only the first picture of each 'post' will be available at full size/quality. So for art dumps you need to make multiple posts. Also if you want to host a blog there may be options for that. But you may have to host yourself; there are virtual private servers for that but it costs money to operate unfortunately. Not sure if things like blogspot or wordpress are still viable. In the long run, I'd say newgrounds is the most likely site to be around in five or ten years. I hope. Reach out if you'd like advice. Always happy to do what I can. Also, a 'zine sounds.... fascinating. I'd be interested to see what you've got in mind. If it matches up with what I am imagining, that's gonna be cool. If anyone's having trouble extracting the zip files, try 7-zip. Edit: if you want a bluesky (another social media/microblog site) invite, I can get you one.
