Good luck with your bike trip! Greetings from The Netherlands

Vincent

I did a long (but not that long) bike trip in the past. My idea was to connect two cities, 62 miles apart, on a single summer morning. What you are doing, it's totally the right call. Besides the training part, the challenge on the road is in the mind. That needs to be sharp, you need to be decided, excited and determined. Because you will be doing this while going through different moods and even while being physically tired. What help me a lot was learning how to eat and drink while *on the road*, so that it wouldn't affect my endurance. That thing was key for me to achieve it. I am excited that you are excited about it.

I haven't seen this, so thank you for sending! This is the idea, but with 3x the amount of panels and a few tweaks to avoid some of the issues Simon faced such as using an MPPT controller so that each panel is connected separately and able to bring in as much or as little power as possible, but more on that in the video!

Becca! Check out Francis Cade/Cade Media's longer bikepacking videos if you need some inspiration: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMZ241fyVfisS3ccyCnPw9fvutE0qdhfa&si=8dv0kpQrFwRD--w2 Francis isn't riding an eBike but just that "adventure" and "getting out there" spirit abounds in his videos. The one I linked above is one of my favorites. Just something to get the "stoke" going as you get closer to departing. Wish I was close enough to join for some miles.

Hullo Becca, felt I might venture a video you could watch, who knows you may have seen it already, having gone down this solar-trailer w/e-bike route. Dr Simon Clarke last year tried to cycle from his hometown, Bath (United Kingdom), 200kms to London, charging an extra battery with panels on a trailer. https://youtu.be/-sZJqynNhOk?si=aIHwq0Ezeizr06wA Just thought you might be interested in this, seeing as it's a very similar concept. Looking forward to this expedition!

I’m happy to hear that you’re putting your mental health first before your journey. It’s so true that being in the right headspace can really shape whether a journey feels amazing or tough. I love that you’re focusing on keeping this experience positive! Wishing you all the best on your bike trip in June!
