2025-05-31 04:47:38 +0000 UTCAs I recall, there was a post on Twitter a couple years ago made by the guy who use to create all the concept art for all the wrestlers in the WWF whenever they first get new Gimmicks, he would draft out what the look and style of the outfits would be... The story was that everyone in Vince's inner circle (Vince included) felt that Gonzalez was not muscular enough to be seen as threating or intimidating and it would not be a believable challenge for Undertaker, so Vince requested they design a muscle suit for him. Their concept Artist was a fan of Marvel Comics and so he designed the suit to resemble Beast from X-Men but make it more human. with dark fur instead of blue, it would be in patches instead of all over ((to give him a more primitive human look)) and with a belt and shorts design to resemble the fur tights of Conan the barbarian. He said he presented the Concept art and Vince approved. I forget what was mentioned after that, but I think he explained why the suit came out so terrible, WWF used cheaper material for the fur and completely skipped over the original design for his tights, which is why he was left with just pubes and they struggled with figuring out how to keep the fur patches on him, which is why he ended up just wrestling in what was then just a muscle suit with no dick, action league now style.
