You should stop worrying about how strong the other rookies from Sabaody are portrayed. I see you talking about it every time they come up and I understand what you mean, but it will be answered in time. A friend of mine feared the same thing after the time skip and in the end he was happy how it all played out. I won't spoil anything, but I can tell you Luffy's training in the last two years absolutely has a big impact and won't be diminished by others getting powerups for free. That of course does not mean that everybody else stayed exactly the same as they were two years ago (see Law). I hope that puts you at ease somewhat.
