2025-07-12 20:10:51 +0000 UTCthanks man! when you hatch for for form, you'll usually need just a single pass (so not really cross-hatching), and often you won't need to cover a big area with long lines, whereas if youre trying to achieve values (especially deeper ones), youll almost always have to cross hatch and typically across a larger surface, so the two approaches are pretty distinct if you use hatching for value and form at the same time, then youre kind of getting the best of both worlds if you choose to, so its really just up to your discretion whether you'll go over the form creating cross contours, or whether you'll go in a flat or arbitrary direction in some places in my mind, when working with values, youll want to keep form in mind for areas you want to come forward, and flatten certain things that are either far away or not supposed to attract attention im not sure i actually got to the point of the questions hahah, does that answer it?

2025-06-22 10:53:42 +0000 UTCVerrry cool video and helpful tips ! I have a small question, when you cross hatch to show form how can you make the viewer not confused that it's a value hatching (specially when you use the hatching for both value and form in the same drawing) ? I hope it makes sense
