Composition - Big, Medium, Small & Beyond

Another installment in the composition mini-series, this time getting to the bottom of the principle behind ideas such as Big, Medium, Small or the Rule of Thirds!
As always, any thoughts or questions are welcome ~

thank you meandi! I think the best way of practicing these would be to try to isolate each aspect and work with simple exercises for each, instead of trying to apply the idea in multiple different ways at the same time for example, you could work on size variety only with simple sketch studies based on a relatively easy reference, like a single object where you don't have to worry about much more than just Big-medium-small as applicable to shape design another example could be doing very rough abstract color/value thumbnails where you're not really even working with figurative subject matter, but just figuring out how to compose colors with an uneven distribution while not having to worry about perspective and form and a bunch of other things in other words, if you want this to become second nature, you have to practice it intently and in a focused, isolated manner, and then your awareness of the principles will naturally increase when you go to apply them in actual image-making hope that helps!

Awesome video, do you have tips on how to apply these and almost make them second nature overtime?
