ATEEZ - 1N2D 2 (Part 1)

I absolutely loved this 👏🏼 First let me just say that the guys are looking TOP TIER, literally all of them! This episode was so good though, ATEEZ competing and trying to be sneaky is the epitome of entertainment haha and I enjoyed it so much, for sure did not feel like an hour long. Jongho and Mingi were highlights man 😂 I saw they did come out with the next part so I can’t wait to check it out. Hope you guys enjoyed and sorry about the muting! I’ve finally listened to the album so won’t have to worry about it in the next one 👌🏼😊

i would like to recommend checking out xg! i've never been a fan of ggs but to me, xg is the only group that matches ateez's energy, they're a japanese gg that promotes in korea and their talents are extraordinary in my opinion.. u're gonna love their voice colors! they excell in performance, dance on point, heavenly vocals and their rap line is insane too

I would love to do a rewatch of Imitation with you! It’s not like an award winning drama or anything but I still enjoyed more than I thought I would (beyond just watching for Ateez lol). It had some really interesting elements about Kpop idol life in it, felt very meta. I don’t really listen to girl groups either but songs will catch my ear now and then. I really like Pixy’s Villain after I saw it on a music show Ateez was on. BIBI’s Kazino I really liked as well but she’s more K-hiphop/indie? Ateez kind of collabed with her (they just danced) on a song she did a featuring on for Knowing Brothers. And I’ve liked a few of Purple Kiss’s songs. But yeah you’ll probably like Dreamcatcher too, definitely Ateez’s sister group, and Everglow is down that same stream.

StarsForMars

Omg yes please react to Imitation!

I don't watch other groups, but I did see the playlists 🤣 I hope we get all 6

hello!! it’s been a hot minute since i’ve commented but i feel like i can help here, soo. :) i’m actually a girl group stan, similarly to our dear Hwa, the only two boy groups that i hardcore stan are NCT and ATEEZ, who i adore with my whole heart. if you’re interested in checking out some girl groups, i’ve got a few suggestions. obviously, Dreamcatcher, is a great place to start, seeing as they have the same production team as ATEEZ and a generally very accessible sound and concept for boy group stans to get into. they’re also REALLY funny and unhinged, moreso than most girl groups i can think of, so that’s a plus!! i’d suggest their dystopia trilogy (scream, boca, odd eye) for sure, along with maybe an older song like “deja vu” and a newer song like “vision”. i think (G)I-DLE, pronounced as “idle”, is another good place to start. they have a lot more creative freedom than most girl groups. their leader and main rapper, soyeon, is in charge of writing, composing, and producing a lot of their music. although she can have the occasional dud verse (“tomboy” comes to mind), she’s incredibly talented. their latest comeback, “queencard”, was a miss for a lot of people because they don’t understand that it’s meant to be a parody. but if you watch it in order with the pre-release “allergy”, i’m sure it’ll make more sense. some songs i’d recommend by them to get started are “oh my god” (this has one of the greatest MVs i’ve ever seen), “lion”, and “nxde”. i think these do a good job of showing off their versatility and a mix of style and social commentary. last but not least i’d like to recommend Red Velvet. seeing as they come from SM, they’re one of the most musically interesting and “out there” girl groups. i adore them, and have had the pleasure of seeing them live twice. their vocals are incredible and their b-sides are unmatched in terms of quality. they def have a handful of songs that would be tough on a new listener, but they also have some really accessible music for beginners such as “bad boy”, “psycho”, and maybe also “feel my rhythm” for a more recent comeback. some other girl groups you might find interesting would be EVERGLOW, PURPLE KISS, Billlie, and LOONA. i hope you can find something to enjoy! <33

Oh there’s usually 6??? Um I would love that 🫡 I didn’t watch any other groups on the show so I just assumed it was 2 episodes like the first one they did not even questioning why it’s called 1 Night 2 days 🤣🤣🤣 that’s good to hear though, looking forward to watching how many they decide to come out with. Lol there are sooo many, my mind goes right to the new Inkigayo one with the more white outfits cause man the styling and Hongjoong thumbnail I’m like I am doing that stage and the face cams 👏🏼😂 Thanks for letting me know! I’d definitely be up for eventually watching it, feel like it would be fun but also weird to see them act in something haha but I’m all for it!

I'm not sure how many episodes ATEEZ will get this time, the groups recently have been getting 6. They only had two last time because they didn't do the full 1 night 2 days. I don't know if they will get the full 6 this time or just 4 to add to their previous 2 or what. Yes to any and all stages you want to watch. There are 6 of the usuals per full week: The Show, Show Champion, M Countdown, Music Bank, Music Core and Inkygayo, if they are all broadcasting. Yes to Imitation if you want to react to it. San and Seonghwa's parts are quite small but I think they did a good job. Yunho also did well with his larger part. I really think the stand-out performance was from Jongho. He was so good. I also use Malo by SHAX as one of my filler "non ATEEZ" songs on playlists. If/when you do watch Imitation, there are lots of extra fun bits. I wasn't around when it aired so I don't know when stuff was released, but there are interviews, fans cams, dance practices... in character... for both SHAX and Sparkling. They even sold SHAX and Sparking albums and you can listen to them on Spotify. Then there are also the usual behind-the-scenes clips and stuff too. I can't help with girl groups. I do like watching Jongho and the guys dance to them though

So about girl groups. I don't stan any but I am a listener of quite a few. I also like a few female soloists like Chungha and BIBI. I've always prefered female vocals before getting into k-pop so mainly being a boy group stan came as a surprise (plus I'm a lesbian, so, like, what the hell). My favorite singer of all time is Sara Bareilles. Mamamoo has some awesome music and amazing vocals. I especially loved "Hip." Their solo stuff is also some of my favorite. Hwasa is always intense. Solar is a bit playful and sexy. Moonbyul is... gay vibes to the moon and back lol. Their subunit, Mamamoo+ came out with a few songs like GGBB which were really fun. Dreamcatcher was one of the first girl groups to catch my eye because of their more powerful and metal/rock sound. I didn't especially like this last comeback but they are amazing. My favorite songs of theirs are probably "Scream" and "Piri." (g)i-dle (pronounced idle) is honestly one of the most innovative and boundary-pushing girl groups. I have loved most of their title tracks and a lot of their b-sides. My favorite from their most recent album was "Paradise", which gave me nostalgia over the kind of music I listened to in middle school (pop-rock). They also take messaging fairly seriously. Their recent comeback has 2 music videos that should be watched in a specific order, otherwise you might get the wrong idea. "Allergy" --> "Queencard." A lot of the "Queencard" mv was satirical which flew over a lot of people's heads. Also Chungha is amazing as well. I feel like I could write an essay on how queer-coded her "Dream of You" performance video is. My favorite song of hers though is "Killing Me." BIBI is like Hwasa levels of intense but turned up at least 3 notches. "Animal Farm" is an amazing song with almost angelic vocals, but the mv is bloody enough to give me nightmares. I also really love "Vengeance." I listen to a few other groups casually, like Le Sserafim, IVE, and Twice. I've never really liked Blackpink's music. It is what it is. Also, I know this isn't a girl group, but as it's the last few days of pride month, I'll tell you about a group called OnlyOneOf. They're from a very small company. And they have a lot of creative control. They're also known for being an older and more mature idol group. The oldest was born in '92 (a year younger than me) and already served in the military before he got into music. The youngest is '99 line. They make their own songs. It's a double-edged sword as some of their stuff I really love, and others I cannot bear to listen to. They can be a bit experimental with their style. You might be wondering why I mentioned pride. Last year, starting in June and over the course of 7 months, they released solo tracks. The main theme of all 6 of the music videos was queer love/stories. Very risky and very progressive for South Korea. You might have come across them after their 2020 group release called "Libido" which was very... erotic and talked about mature themes, thus the name. One part of their choreo in that song went viral. They continued to showcase queer love and queer stories throughout the rest of their releases up till now. My favorite songs from them are probably "Nabi" "Night Flight" "Dora Maar" as well as the solo songs "Begin" and "Be Free."

jongho really shined in imitation. pretty sure he was also the maknae of his group and it was so weird but really cute seeing him like that.
