Where is My Mind?

It's crazy to think that just a year ago, I had frozen my Patreon account thinking that my previous job required more commitment, only to be retrenched and find myself in a precarious situation. Here in Singapore where I live, our homegrown animation industry is all but a shadow of its former self, exacerbated by the use of AI and general lack of understanding or interest for the arts.

2024 has been a blur of pure utter nonsense and disruptions (Patreon will be reviewing their policies on weight-gain content), not counting all the other world news. While I won't dive into the details of my housing debacle, it is something that remains an on-going process of navigating bureaucratic obstacles over the past 3 months.

On the bright side, after 6 very stressful and nerve-wrecking months, I'm now 2 weeks into my new job as a social media executive. It's a role that's steeped in digital marketing for today's attention economy. The unfortunate reality is that the animation diploma I graduated with is all but obsolete at this point, and I've had to pivot very hard. Starting 12 Aug, to formalize my training and qualifications to better prepare myself for this evolving career landscape, I'll be embarking on my part-time degree studies. which will synergize with my current digital marketing role. The long-term goal is to have the paper qualifications to step into copywriting and aim for an arrangement with better work-life balance.

On the 10 of each month, I'll be sharing the lettered version of earlier pages that are now ready for public viewing. After which I'll be sharing the draft and ink versions of the new page 6.
