"What's in there?"
"Only what you take with you..."
The first of a few Dagobah inspired prints this month..
Sorry for the last couple days delay, had a bit of an issue with my feet and ankles doing some weird swelling stuff (like to the point of not being able to walk...) , no idea what it is... possibly just sitting here too many hours at a time modelling, not taking regular breaks etc... I forget im 41. lol. seems to be ok now.. going to have a couple months off the grog and see if it help too :p Also just cleaning up the new site with overlooked things, ideally less headaches as a result now.
Luke Vader is attached below.. finally..
I have made some updates from the render above, the extra mole is not below his lip on the right of his face and I also cut the back top of the helmet flat so this can be printed upsidown. It actually takes much less filament and supports this way also.
I debated doing a separate face that is inserted after but by the time I wanted to do that, the melted helmet was too far gone and it became a shitty job resculpting the helmet to accomodate a head, which then requires a tonne of other pins and joiners to get the two helmet pieces together also.. This is now just fused so there is no supports inside, just infil like it should be.
It is scaled to the 3D scan of lukes head.. so the helmet may be a little smaller than the original helm but his face sits pretty low in it. I haven't cut the bottom of the helmet so putting it on a stand shouldnt be too difficult if needed, just pop a hole in the bottom.
Logins for the new download site are going out now, so no , no one missed emails, they just didnt go out as planned sorry, its a lengthy job and I really wanted to get luke finished off.
This is V1, I will revisit later on and do an eyes open version and one that the face can be removed and painted externally and real glass eyes possibly inserted, but for now this hopefully will suffice.
Please see attached image below also. The 3d scan side by side with Toshi's luke head inside, which will may or may not be used.. honestly since I did 3D scan (XYZ handheld scanner by the way, cheap but does the job) and I did get a legit cast from Forsche so I know its at least from a good master, I might as well resculpt that to an open eye version, so I guess the pic below is just a visualization for now of the open eye versus the closed.
