Patreon Poll: Halloween Horror Movies

In the spirit of Halloween, lets have another horror movies poll.

Last week's winner will be watched over the weekend.

Remember, you can vote for more than 1 movie, and don't worry if the movie you voted for doesn't win! because don't forget, I do 3 movies a week ;)

PS I think these movies are going to be scary AF because while looking for the years these movies were released, I saw the posters........ SO , wont watch any of them before sleep. I think this is the scariest poll so far.

Comments

They were in my top three, maybe not in that order.

Eddie Perkins

Personally. I got addicted to reaction content during covid when I had nothing to do. Now that covid is done, people are more anti social than ever still so I guess I'm sticking around until Dasha chooses to stop which won't be anytime soon. I think she loves watching movies and TV shows as much as the rest of us.

Thats MR. Baldamort

All 3 of those movies will make for good reactions. Has anyone ever started a conversation on here about why they like reaction content? I am curious as to what draws people to reactions. Katy - my girl - can't stand reaction content. She barely tolerates Cassie and Dasha when I put them on (and only because they're likeable girls) but overall it's just not something she likes to see. She DOES like music reactions from vocal coaches (because she is a singer herself) but movie reactions are mostly a no-go for her. I enjoy reactions because I've always been a fan of movies and shows. Even before I found out about YouTube reactions I would have a great time putting on my favorite movies and shows for my friends. Seeing someone else watch something you loved for the first time is the closest thing to being able to experience it again for the first time yourself. I can rewatch Vader reveal to Luke that he is his father, but I don't have that same shocked feeling as when I saw it revealed for the first time. However, when I show someone Empire for the first time and they get shocked by that reveal and I see their reaction to it, it's almost like reliving it again. It's the closest thing to that experience and makes it kind of fresh again. It has to be a real reaction though, and I cannot stand phony content. There are some reactors out there who I am convinced are putting on a show and have seen the movies before. It's inauthentic. However, there are some reactors who are very genuine and that makes it more fun. On top of that, when you find a reactor that you like as a person AND you BELIEVE in their authenticity, it does a lot to recreate the experience of watching a beloved movie or show again. This is my take on it. I am curious if anyone wants to share what it is about this content that you like.

Excited for Dasha to watch, Jeepers Creepers, Hereditary and her making the choice herself to watch The Descent. It's a great time to be here in the Dasha of Russia community. She is so awesome. 🙌

Thats MR. Baldamort

How refreshing that you're actually willing to "face your fears". I wish other channels would do that instead of hiding behind polls and keep ducking things that people want a reaction.

Shehab Dawoud

I think you'll like the Descent. Not because it's the best on the list, but it just seems to me - based upon your prior reactions - one that you personally would like. I could be wrong, but it's a hunch.

Michael@GetFitwithDogs

Hey Dasha, want to see a very under rated Ryan Renalds movie? It will test your claustrophobia even more. A movie called "Buried" (2010) the name implies itself. Ryan Reynolds is "Buried" in a coffin for reasons I wont spoil of course. If you can make it past The Descent, this movie should be next on your list. Its not a horror movie but BOY you will feel like it is.

Thats MR. Baldamort

You guys intrigued me with the Descent movie. Since I have a huge claustrophobia I think it will be fun to watch. I think I’ll add it my list regardless poles votes. But I need to wait for the next week, so just in case I can watch it in the morning lol

Dasha

I celebrate Halloween by going on a month long horror/Halloween movie binge. I try to avoid scary movies all year long just so I can make October more festive and fun by watching one every night. I even deck out the movie room in orange lights and candles to add to the Halloween atmosphere. It makes October more fun. I put a little short video on my YouTube Channel displaying my set up. 🎃 As far as dressing up, only if there is an occasion or event to do so. Such as a Halloween party.

Michael@GetFitwithDogs

I haven't been scared by a horror movie since shildhood tbh so I base my choice on my entertainment level. I was way more entertained by The Descent than I was by Hereditary which I thought was a superior movie.

Yann Laliberté

Even with claustrophobia, I don't think the Descent will be the scariest. It's actually not that scary, IMO. But it is more adventurous, and seems to be popular. The scariest of the lot is Hereditary. Very creepy!

Michael@GetFitwithDogs

And I'm not saying it isn't good, just thinking if you're older you're more likely to choose Rosemary.

YoureMrLebowski

I voted for the Descent, not because its my favorite of the group, but because I think its one that Dasha would like best. Personally, I like Hereditary the best.

Michael@GetFitwithDogs

To be fair rosemary baby is a great movie and I say that being somebody in my 20s. I just didnt vote for it here because I think there are other films that outshine it in this horror category.

Thats MR. Baldamort

The age range sounds right. I would guess there is a significant number of 50 and older crowd in the group, making up 42% of Dasha patrons, with 22% of that group being over 60. I base my findings on how well Rosemary's Baby is doing in the poll. Note: I'm not saying that everyone voting for Rosemary's Baby is old. I'm saying they're probably old. Note: I'm old. 🙂

YoureMrLebowski

I'm going to go on a limb and say a lot of us range from mid 20s to 50s. Im in my late 20s but there are lots of people on the patron who are in their 40s i think I've seen mentioned. Which is why if there are older movies mixed with new ones on polls. The older ones tend to be the favor.

SR2 Prod.

I have to agree with Justin. Hereditary is great, wish it were doing better in the poll!

SR2 Prod.

So many great picks here! I think The Conjuring franchise should be continued. There’s also Hereditary and Jeepers Creepers which is both scary and ridiculously hilarious (at least to me). I had a fun ride with that one.

Todd Schellbach

I feel sorry for Sinister, not getting a lot of love. But hey, at least it's not The Babadook.

YoureMrLebowski

Do you ever try to guess the age of your fellow patrons by looking at the polls?

YoureMrLebowski

Absolutely. Yes, like all the cool people, I’ve dressed as The Crow. In the past I’ve been the grim reaper, an evil clown, even an iPhone. This year I’m thinking I may be Wednesday Addams.

Todd Schellbach

Yes! I’ve seen some others react in cosplay to some degree. Bisscute reacted to the Wednesday tv series with her hair in long pigtails, for example.

Todd Schellbach

because that's what turns me on ;)

justin swan

No its not. Idk why everyone beats their meat to it

Fantomex

Jeepers Creepers is directed by a pos guy. Its a great horror movie but he's a really bad guy

Fantomex

Hereditary and The Descent are the best on the list, wish they were winning myself xD

Thats MR. Baldamort

How do I down vote Jeepers Creepers ;p lol jk ... Hereditary is the best movie on this list :D

justin swan

My top pic would be Snister, but that seems unlikely to even be in the top three. But I like all of these, so bring on the scares!

Troy Hickman

You can handle Rosemary’s Baby, it’s more psychologically scary than anything. But it’s a great film, revolutionary in a lot of ways. The director… the less said about him, the better.

Shehab Dawoud

I hope Dasha either watches Conjuring 2 or The Descent as a suprise reaction if they don't win the poll. The Descent will test Dashas Claustrophobia but other than that, it's one of the best adrenaline filled horror movies i think that had ever come out besides Conjuring and it deserves its place on the channel. People will LOVE to see Dasha react to it. Will give Dasha some views for damn sure!

SR2 Prod.

Incredible acting. The dinner scene. Wow.

YoureMrLebowski

I have a fear of getting stuck and not being able to move. That is why ill never go cave exploring. So I have to agree with Dasha too. I hope she gets to see The Descent, Its a great film.

Thats MR. Baldamort

Voted for The Conjuring 2 and Hereditary. Conjuring 2 is along the same lines as the first so you will want to watch during the daylight hours. Hereditary is scary but more than that it makes you feel “uneasy”. Great acting though.

Doce

Dasha, in the spirit of Halloween, I feel certain if you did some cosplay in your reaction there would be a lot of interest in that video.

YoureMrLebowski

Trust me, you do not want to watch Hereditary. I know this isn't on here. But if you get the movie The Final Girl. I'm voting ASAP.

Patrick Anderson

Before i was a patreon here i almost never watched any horror films. It's been fun to experience some new things. It's cool to see unique production and camera techniques that show up in the horror genre. Looking forward to whatever wins.

Berad

Then I made the right choice. Confronting fears is always what's best

Yann Laliberté

Ok....Then Descent is the scariest of this list. I have a huge claustrophobia

Dasha

You should do 1408 and The Skeleton Key

Jamdivi

Knowing how claustrophobic you are, I’m not sure if The Descent is something you should watch, even though I voted for it! 😂 Also, coming off your recent reaction to The Conjuring, I think Conjuring 2 is a must watch while it’s still fresh in your mind!

Bill Bowron

Speaking of the Halloween spirit. Figured id spark some conversation. Maybe Dasha can chime in too if she wants. Does anybody here celebrate Halloween? and if so, what do you plan to dress up as? contrary to popular belief, i am actually dressing up as Voldamort this Halloween. I am going bald anyway, might as well play the part. I could also make a good lex luthor from superman 😂

Thats MR. Baldamort

Descent for me. It preys on claustrophopics as well as being an efficient horror movie

Yann Laliberté

The only ones on there that I've seen are Rosemary's Baby (which is great but I don't really consider it a horror movie), The Descent and Jeepers Creepers. I voted for Descent and Jeepers. I'd still love to see you do The Blob (1958).

Daniel Fisher

If you won't watch these before sleep. Maybe close the curtains to take in the vibes a bit during the day. Got to be spooky just a tad bit eh? 😆

Thats MR. Baldamort

All of these are fun to watch for Halloween. Can't go wrong with any. My top votes are Conjuring 2, The Descent and Hereditary.

SR2 Prod.

I haven't seen any of these movies. I hope the winner(s) are scary. Looking forward to streaming them. I will have a change of underwear on hand, just in case.
