Halloween is tomorrow. Is anyone else feeling a little bit bummed about that? I am not ready to say goodbye to the Halloween season! The Fall decor, creepy Halloween displays, pumpkins, pumpkin BEER, the changing of the leaves, the nice weather, and the horror movies... I am not ready for it to be over, darn it! But... at least Christmas season is awesome, and at my house all the Christmas decor goes up on November 1st and not a day later. I will miss Halloween season but bring on Christmas trees, the lights, the movies, and the Christmas songs endlessly playing in the background on Alexa over the next 2 months.

John Candy is a legend.

TY thought so

She has! She reacted to it a while back.

Has Dasha seen "What about Mary?"

Danny T

Its two part mini series yes, BUT on amazon prime its listed as "Battlestar Galactica: The mini Series (2003) Season 1 episode 1" as 3hrs long. They combined the two parts into a single movie which I think is better option imo. Dasha could choose to find it someplace else where its split into two separate episodes but the amazon option is easier in my opinion. After she watches that, then the ACTUAL season itself starts with "Battlestar Galactica (2004) Season 1 episode 1 called "33" If Dasha reads this just to clarify if it gets confusing in her search to start watching the show.

Shes gonna love ace Ventura 2 🤣

Fantomex

Will we ever get the answer to "Who's Harry Crumb?"

Alex

Lots of funny scenes in the movie. I know what you're saying but I still call it a comedy.

My_Cousin_Mose

You are correct and I caught that and removed it right before I saw your post. Good catch! I had completely forgotten that she's seen that. I added "Look Who's Talking" in it's place. Also added "Jerry Maguire" as a sports movie.

Michael@GetFitwithDogs

I love your list! However I would remove "plains trains and automobiles" she reacted to that one already. You can find it someplace here on her patron if you want to watch it!

I'd categorize 'Cable Guy' as a drama; yes, we have Jim Carey as a weird-acting dude, but the story line is pretty dark. Suggestions for future Comedy polls: What's Up, Doc? (1972) Forgetting Sarah Marshall (I'll think of more later on)

Leslie Mann plays Debbie in "Knocked Up" (2007) and its followup movie, "This Is 40" (2012), both films written and directed by her real life husband, Judd Apatow. Years after the couple had two daughters, Judd appeared on a late night talk show and admitted that Leslie had recently informed him that her name is pronounced 'LESS-lee', and not 'LEZ-lee', which is how he had been mispronouncing it all this time since before they were married. Their real life daughters, Maude and Iris, play the daughters of Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd in "This Is 40".

Here are some recommendations for future polls or movies along with a brief description. I may repost from time to time to keep these suggestions in recent memory. Thrillers: Ransom (1996) Starring Mel Gibson and Gary Sinise. This is an intense movie with some gripping scenes about a rich man who's child is abducted and held for ransom. Mel Gibson is phenomenal in this, as is Gary Sinise. Mel Gibson portrays his grief in a heartbreaking scene perfectly. This movie is made for reactions. Mystic River (2003) Starring Kevin Bacon, Tim Robbins, and Sean Penn. Another intense movie with gut-wrenching scenes. In this one, Sean Penn is the grieving father who delivers a gut-punch of a scene that stays with you. It is an investigation/mystery thriller as childhood friends deal with a traumatic past as adults in a troubled neighborhood. This is one I hardly ever see reactions to but absolutely should have them. Kids Movies: The Neverending Story (1984) Starring Noah Hathaway and Barret Oliver. A fantasy adventure tale that follows a boy who steals a book and becomes immersed in a surprising story in which he plays a pivotal role. This one is a classic kids movie that at times is very adult. You don't see many children's stories like this anymore. It too has gut-wrenching scenes that have scarred many kids in it's day. A can't miss! And that musical score... legendary. Family Movies: Marley and Me (2008) Starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson Made for dog-lovers, but punishes them all the same. IMO, not quite as tough as Hachi was, but hits you in the feels nonetheless. Humans who have had a hyper and challenging dog can relate to this movie. It follows a couple through their journey together. Through it all they have Marley with them, a mischievous yellow Labrador who gets into all sorts of trouble. This one has been recommended over and over, probably because it's good and also because everyone knows Dasha won't be able to stop the tears. Look Who's Talking (1989) Starring Kirstie Alley, Bruce Willis and John Travolta A fun and funny family movie about a woman who is pregnant with another man's child but meets the unexpected and unlikely love of her life while hailing a taxicab to get to the hospital while going into labor. Bruce Willis does the voice behind Mikey, the baby that is the catalyst behind the love story. Suspense Movies: No Escape (2015) Starring Owen Wilson An American family is living in a 3rd world country that suddenly ends up in a violent anti-American military coup. It follows Wilson, his wife and their children as they try to escape and are relentlessly pursued by the rebels. If you're looking for a movie that constantly has you on the edge of your seat, this one is it. You hardly ever get a moment to breathe the entire movie. Festive Holiday Movies: For Halloween: The Haunting of Hill House (2019) A 1 season series that will probably have to wait until next October. A supernatural horror drama that follows the lives - simultaneously, both past and present - of the Crain Family. This family moved into the haunted Hill House with plans to rehabilitate and sell the mansion for a lot of money so they can then build their forever home. Unfortunately the house had other plans and the family becomes forever scarred. Over 2 decades later, as adults, the family is forced to confront their haunted past and mend their broken relationships. The acting and writing in this movie is incredible. It does have some scares, but it is a very slow show heavy on dialogue and relationships. For Christmas: Prancer (1989) Starring Sam Elliot and Rebecca Harrell Tickell A lesser known Christmas classic. I never saw this movie until a few years ago when my girlfriend told me I was insane for never having watched this as it is an all-time classic Christmas movie. I watched it and loved it. It is a touching small town family movie that follows a young girl with a big heart clinging to her belief in Santa Claus and the Christmas Spirit. Her world is thrown upside down when she comes across a wounded reindeer that she is convinced is Prancer, one of Santa's reindeer. Meet Me In Saint Louis (1944) Starring Judy Garland An all-time classic that is partly a musical and follows a mid-western family in the early 1900's, just before the famous World's Fair. To best summarize this one, I will plagiarize wikipedia: The film spotlights the sisters' education in the ways of the world, which includes, but isn't limited to, learning about life and love, courtesy of the prototypical boy next door. In the end, love -- accompanied by song, dance and period costumes, all in glorious Technicolor -- conquers all. Rom-Coms: My Best Friend's Wedding (1997) Starring Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, Dermot Mulroney, and Rupert Everett One of the few rom-coms I will ever recommend anyone, as it is one of the few that isn't made to humiliate men. This story follows arrogant and pompous Julia Roberts on an adventure when she finds out that her best friend (played by Dermot Mulroney) is engaged. Roberts always thought he would propose to her given their history together, but it turns out he met someone else, Cameron Diaz. Roberts, after years of stringing Mulroney along, suddenly becomes possessive of him and wants him back. Sports Movies: Jerry Maguire (1996) Starring Tom Cruise, Cuba Gooding Jr, and Renee Zelleweger A very touching comedy/romance sports movie depicting a Sports Agent played by Tom Cruise who realizes his industry had been corrupted by a desire for money and lost it's humanity in regards to treatment of their athletes. He proposes changes which were not accepted and he goes on a spiral in which everything falls apart only to be rebuilt much stronger. The 4 year old son of Renee Zelleweger's character in the movie stole the show with his absolute cuteness. I've heard women say this movie is the most attractive Tom Cruise has ever looked. I will leave it there for now. I have so many more great movies to suggest but this is a good amount for now. I did not necessarily list my personal favorite movies of all time, but chose movies that would make a great reaction and/or ones I think Dasha would love.

Michael@GetFitwithDogs

Dasha, speaking of polls. Since it seems Battlestar won the TV show poll. Has anybody said to make sure to watch the two part mini series first? That is the start of the show before season 1 starts. Its only two episodes. Those episodes are the pilot episodes. The "Battlestar galactica mini series (2003): Then start season 1 is after that.

JokesterHollywood

Meet the fockers is my choice. Since she watched the first movie a bit ago!
