that was a fun twist on the classic fairy tale.

2024-11-21 21:35:55 +0000 UTCCorrect, Bill. It is completely her call to watch what she wants to watch. It is the Patrons and Subscribers call to follow or unfollow. If she watched a movie I despised, it would in no way change my feelings about supporting this Channel. Of course I'll still support it, and I think most people would too. I think it would be weird for someone to demand that Dasha only watch movies that they like. I am sure people like that exist, but they're a small percentage of people. I don't concern myself with petty people and I recommend others ignore them as well. If they did care so much as to threaten to leave... well, the door is ->
Michael@GetFitwithDogs
2024-11-20 21:01:10 +0000 UTCI posted the original message cuz I'm just curious if she's even interested in watching the next trilogy. She might not be. But if she is, I don't think anyone should discourage her from watching them.
Bill Bowron
2024-11-20 20:32:43 +0000 UTCShe can watch the Disney Trilogy if she wants. No judgement will be coming from me... despite the fact that as a lifelong Star Wars fan I have never watched Rise of Skywalker (Episode 9) and never will. The Last Jedi (Episode 8) disgusted me so bad that it was the first and only movie that I saw at the theater where I was close to throwing my beer can at the big screen. I didn't, but I couldn't believe what I was watching. It was infuriating. I don't have a problem if someone else liked the movie, as we all have our own tastes. For me, Episode 8 made a mockery of the Luke Skywalker I grew up with. I'm not interested in debating that here as I know it wont go anywhere if we did. I'll just say to those that like E8... I wish I could have liked it as well. More power to you. I despise that movie. It is probably my most hated movie of all time. However, my tastes are just my tastes, and if someone feels it's the best movie ever, then that's cool too.

2024-11-20 19:55:11 +0000 UTCWell, Dasha reacted to Captain Marvel, which is also very polarizing movie and I didn't see much hateful reactions there. But generally I quite agree, I can understand why most reactors are avoiding these movies and yes, I also think some people may take it as the last straw for unsubscribe.
Ja Hu
2024-11-20 19:40:35 +0000 UTCCouldn't have said that any better, MR. B! Tony, I think Dasha will be just fine. Let her make that decision.
Bill Bowron
2024-11-20 04:14:13 +0000 UTCMost reactors have watched them for their channels and they are doing just fine. A lot were actually surprised by how much they enjoyed the films and noticed the outcry is blown WAY out of proportion even with some the criticisms about the films. Every content creator on the platform gets some trolls and losers in the comments. It dosnt stop people from making the content they want. This isnt rocket science, its just watching movies lol.
Thats MR. Baldamort
2024-11-20 03:54:42 +0000 UTCYeah, because Dasha has never gotten hate comments before. You Tube is just nice people, there are no trolls, petty or spiteful people. So I'm sure if she does a trilogy of movies that are widely hated there would be no problems at all. Especially from a fan base someone else described as "loud " and "toxic ". They wouldn't take the opportunity to vent at all.

2024-11-20 03:13:24 +0000 UTCThis poll is about over, and it looks like the NeverEnding Story is going to take it. With that, my future poll suggestions should be updated. Here we go: Here are some recommendations for future polls or movies along with a brief description. I may repost from time to time to keep these suggestions in recent memory. Other patrons have made some excellent suggestions as well. THRILLERS: 1. Ransom (1996) Starring Mel Gibson and Gary Sinise. This is an intense movie with some gripping scenes about a rich man who's child is abducted and held for ransom. Mel Gibson is phenomenal in this, as is Gary Sinise. Mel Gibson's acting is incredible. This movie is made for reactions. 2. Mystic River (2003) Starring Kevin Bacon, Tim Robbins, and Sean Penn. Another intense movie with gut-wrenching scenes. In this one, Sean Penn is the one who delivers a gut-punch of a scene that stays with you. It is an investigation/mystery thriller as childhood friends deal with a traumatic past as adults living in a troubled neighborhood. This is one I hardly ever see reactions to but absolutely should have them. KIDS MOVIES: 1. The NeverEnding Story won a poll, so I had to replace it with something else for Kids Movies. So how about... 2. Labyrinth (1986) Starring Jennifer Connelly, David Bowie 16 year old Sarah (Connelly) is an imaginative young lady who is unhappy that she is stuck at home babysitting her baby brother Toby. After a wish gone wrong, Sarah is given 13 hours to rescue Toby, who is prisoner at the center of a mystical labyrinth and held by Jareth, the Goblin King (Bowie). This movie was unsuccessful at theaters which devasted legendary director Jim Henson, who put his heart and soul into this project. A few years later, while on his deathbed, Henson received word that the Labyrinth had become a cult hit, blowing up in popularity on VHS. This made him happy to see the project he put so much into and believed very strongly in turn out to be the popular movie he aimed for it to become. This kids movie has a eerie and creepy vibe to it, while remaining very charming. 3. The Dark Crystal (1982) Starring Jim Henson, Frank Oz, and Billie Whitelaw A truly otherworldly and dark children's movie cast entirely by puppets. The Dark Crystal takes place on the alien world of Thra. Thra was powered by the relic The Crystal of Truth. 1000 years ago the Crystal was cracked by greedy aliens known as urSkeks, plunging the world into darkness and evil. At the same time two new beings appeared, the cruel Skeksis and the gentle urRu (aka the Mystics.) The Skeksis took power and controlled the cracked Crystal of Truth (now known as the Dark Crystal), using it to solidify their tyrannical control over all of the creatures of Thra. The story begins here, following the journey of Jen, the last of the Gelfling race. Jen is launched into a quest that leads him towards the Dark Crystal with the fate of Thra on the line. Soon, Thra's 3 suns will align for the first time in 1000 years, and when it does the condition of the Crystal will determine whether the next 1000 years will be one of prosperity or of continued darkness. FAMILY MOVIES: 1. Marley and Me (2008) Starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson Made for dog-lovers, but punishes them all the same. IMO, not quite as tough as Hachi was, but hits you in the feels nonetheless. Humans who have had a hyper and challenging dog can relate to this movie. It follows a couple through their journey together. Through it all they have Marley with them, a mischievous yellow Labrador who gets into all sorts of trouble. This one has been recommended over and over, probably because it's good and also because everyone knows Dasha will be impacted by this movie. 2. Look Who's Talking (1989) Starring Kirstie Alley, Bruce Willis and John Travolta A fun and funny family movie about a woman who is pregnant with another man's child but meets the unlikely love of her life while going into labor. Bruce Willis does the voice behind Mikey, the baby that is the catalyst behind the love story. We follow baby Mikey's hilarious thoughts from the moment he is conceived. SUSPENSE MOVIES: 1. No Escape (2015) Starring Owen Wilson An American family is living in a 3rd world country that suddenly ends up in a violent anti-American military coup. It follows Wilson, his wife and their children as they try to escape. If you're looking for a movie that constantly has you on the edge of your seat, this one is it. You hardly ever get a moment to breathe the entire movie. FESTIVE HOLIDAY MOVIES: For Halloween: 1. The Haunting of Hill House (2019) A 1 season series that will probably have to wait until next October. A supernatural horror drama that follows the lives - simultaneously, both past and present - of the Crain Family. This family moved into the haunted Hill House with plans to rehabilitate and sell the mansion for a lot of money so they can then build their forever home. Unfortunately the house had other plans and the family becomes forever scarred. Over 2 decades later, as adults, the family is forced to confront their haunted past and mend their broken relationships. The acting and writing in this movie is incredible. It does have some scares, but it is a very slow show that is heavy on dialogue and relationships. Cassie of Popcorn in Bed just released episodes 3-10 all together in one 2 and a half hour long reaction, and on a Saturday afternoon I have to admit I binged the entire reaction. :-) For Christmas: 1. Prancer (1989) Starring Sam Elliot and Rebecca Harrell Tickell A lesser known Christmas classic. I never saw this movie until a few years ago when my girlfriend told me I was insane for never having watched this as it is an all-time classic Christmas movie. I watched it and loved it. It is a touching small town family movie that follows a young girl with a big heart clinging to her belief in Santa Claus and the Christmas Spirit. Her world is thrown upside down when she comes across a wounded reindeer that she is convinced is Prancer, one of Santa's reindeer. 2. Meet Me In Saint Louis (1944) Starring Judy Garland An all-time classic that is partly a musical and follows a mid-western family in the early 1900's, just before the famous World's Fair. To best summarize this one, I will plagiarize wikipedia: The film spotlights the sisters' education in the ways of the world, which includes, but isn't limited to, learning about life and love, courtesy of the prototypical boy next door. In the end, love -- accompanied by song, dance and period costumes, all in glorious Technicolor -- conquers all. ROM-COM MOVIES: 1. My Best Friend's Wedding (1997) Starring Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, Dermot Mulroney, and Rupert Everett One of the few rom-coms I will ever recommend anyone, as it is one of the few that isn't made to humiliate men. This story follows arrogant and vindictive Julia Roberts on an adventure when she finds out that her best friend (played by Dermot Mulroney) is engaged. Roberts always thought he would propose to her given their history together, but it turns out he met someone else, Cameron Diaz. Roberts, after years of stringing Mulroney along, suddenly becomes possessive of him and wants him back. Katy's Rom-Com pick for Dasha 2. P.S. I Love You (2007) Starring Gerard Butler, Hilary Swank, and Harry Connick Jr I don't want to give anything away on this one. Know only this: I was telling Katy about my suggestions for Dasha on Patreon and she said, "You should have her watch P.S. I Love You" Her reasoning? Well, it's really good... but it will DESTROY Dasha. A BIG tear-jerker. After she suggested this, I was like, "Are you trying to punish her with this suggestion?" but in truth it really is a good movie, and I don't like chick flicks. It's one of Katy's favorites, just bring the tissues. SPORTS MOVIES: 1. Jerry Maguire (1996) Starring Tom Cruise, Cuba Gooding Jr, and Renee Zelleweger A very touching comedy/romance sports movie depicting a Sports Agent played by Tom Cruise who realizes his industry had been corrupted by a desire for money and lost it's humanity in regards to treatment of their athletes. When things get tough, he goes on a downward spiral in which everything falls apart. The 4 year old son of Renee Zelleweger's character in the movie stole the show with his absolute cuteness. I've heard women say this movie is the most attractive Tom Cruise has ever looked. P.S. For some reason - and I may be alone in this - Renee Zelleweger's character reminds me of Dasha and Natalia. I can't single out exactly why. Maybe it's because their facial expressions are similar? SCI-FI MOVIES: 1. Pitch Black (2000) Starring Vin Diesel and Cole Hauser In the distant future a space transport is hit by space debris and crash lands on a remote planet. The survivors contend with an escaped murderer and the horror of the dark. A Sci-fi Horror Adventure that fits in that genre alongside Aliens (1986). Since Natalia likes Sci-fi Adventure movies, this is probably a great one for the two of them to watch together. I will leave it there for now. I have so many more great movies to suggest but this is a good amount for now. I did not necessarily list my personal favorite movies of all time, but chose movies that would make a great reaction and/or ones I think Dasha would love.

2024-11-19 21:03:34 +0000 UTCI agree Bill. They are very fun movies to watch.
Thats MR. Baldamort
2024-11-19 17:42:30 +0000 UTCThere might be some negative comments regarding the movie(s), but I highly doubt there would be any hateful comments directed at her just for watching them. And I certainly don't think anyone would unsubscribe because of it! Let her watch and decide for herself.
Bill Bowron
2024-11-19 15:04:12 +0000 UTCI have to disagree. I'm just a casual Star Wars watcher I've seen the movies but haven't watched the shows or read the books or anything and the sequel trilogy is really bad. Not only that but a lot of people do hate them and are very vocal about it. Imagine how nasty the comment section will be, it will be full of hate. I also wouldn't be surprised if some people unsubscribed from the channel over it, I'm not saying it will be a lot but there will probably be some.

2024-11-15 23:17:43 +0000 UTCI second continuing star wars Dasha!. Episode 7, 8, and 9. You would seriously enjoy them. The people who dont like them are loud and annoying about it, since star wars fandom is toxic, but that most people who have watched them, casual enjoyers really liked the movies. You would love them.
Thats MR. Baldamort
2024-11-15 18:41:35 +0000 UTCOh my, Ladyhawke and Red Sonja - I even don't want to count how many years ago I saw it for the first time. Would be great to see Dasha react to this, but I am afraid it wouldn't be much watched on YT.

2024-11-15 17:55:22 +0000 UTCDasha, I was wondering if you’d consider continuing on with the Star Wars saga? Despite what you may have heard regarding the latest trilogy, I was hoping you’d at least watch episode 7 and then decide for yourself if you’d want to continue? I know how much you love the Star Wars universe so I’m curious about your thoughts on this?

2024-11-15 15:42:39 +0000 UTCI'm hoping for Pan's Labyrinth, but I have a bias, as Guillermo del Toro wrote the blurb for the cover of my first trade paperback. But it's also a fantastic movie.

2024-11-15 15:08:48 +0000 UTCIt's been 10 years since I saw Pan's Labyrinth. I remember it was very good. Something Dasha should know is that it's in Spanish so she would need to turn subtitles on for it.

2024-11-15 14:28:17 +0000 UTCQuick question Dasha. Back in your "what can I improve" post it was suggested for a cool idea for a new incentive that once a month you could do a post that only top tier patrons (or whatever tier you want to do) could see where each person suggests one movie they want to see you react to, then you would put those suggestions in a virtual spin wheel or virtual hat, and one would get randomly selected and win. You said that it seemd like a fun idea for the channel! Was wondering if you have given more thought to that idea? Anyway looking forward to this poll. Never ending story and Big fish are my picks! Can't wait for more BSG!
