EDITED to remove a two spoilers in case someone reads the comments before watching the film.
My first time watching "The Village". Haven't looked anything up but as soon as I saw the duty patches on Officer Lupinski's jacket and cap, it became obvious the lengths to which Ivy Walker's father and friends had gone to create an alternate, isolated world. Nice cameo by M. Night.
Thanks for your reaction.

Dasha, don't worry; you pronounce M. Night Shyamalan as well as anybody else does. You know, the thing about his twist ending movies is they are hit and miss. Sometimes you are completely flabbergasted by the twist, such as in The Sixth Sense or Unbreakable. But then there are times when you can really see the ending coming up 6th Avenue. There's one of his movies that you haven't watched yet, and I won't reveal what it is because I don't want to give anything away, but literally 10 minutes into the movie I could see the twist ending coming. It's still a decent movie, but no surprise factor whatsoever. Has anyone else seen his latest movies? A couple of weekends ago I watched Trap, which had one of the most unbelievable plots and series of events I've seen in one of his movies. I really feel like he jumped the shark on that one. It seemed to be partially a vehicle to launch his daughter into an acting and singing career. Then there was the movie The Watchers, which was produced by him and directed by one of his other daughters. It was decent for her first time directing job, but nothing to write home about. Again, he can be hit and miss; sometimes he's brilliant, sometimes not so much. But he has made some of my favorite movies. One movie of his that I found quite interesting that you may want to do, Dasha, is Lady in the Water. It was kind of an unusual film, but I enjoyed it. Anyway, wonderful reaction. You really do make any movie better...π

This was my first time seeing this, and it blew my mind, too. When she went over the fence and I saw the jeep, it was like something out of The Twilight Zone. Can you imagine how confused Ivy would have been if she wasn't blind? Dasha is right; it's like these people were being psychologically jailed. It's a great movie and another great reaction, Dasha.

I love this! A couple fact about this film ( i love behind the scenes)
1. It took the crew eleven weeks to build the set for the village. There were nearly 300 people in the scenic art construction department.
2. Sigourney Weaver suffered nightmares for 2 weeks after reading just the script of this film. So she was very much invested in acting for this movie.
