You sound like me 😂if the movie has dogs or bears

Dasha

Another great John Hughes film. I love anything with John Candy, and if a movie has dogs or bears in it, I'm in.

Eddie Perkins

I have seen them all; she would love The Edge and The Bear.

Eddie Perkins

nice!, thanks for that. I need to see that now, gonna check it out

This is exactly why I love it when dasha watches movies ... it's gonna become a pinnacle and a era in time when she comes across them in the future ! ... I imagine Dasha will come across these movies randomly and appreciate and remember the emotions and the nostalgia and the Time when it was first experienced ... the same way we feel when we see Dashas reactions to the same movies we experienced :D ... thats the case for me anyways lol ... have a good night ery1 :)

Oh... an addition to my coyote story. So my neighborhood knows I have serious dogs who will deal with any coyotes. Shortly after the coyote/golden retriever event the news reported a mountain lion was spotted a few miles away from us. One neighbor messaged me and asked if I was going to send my Akitas to deal with it. I was like, "Hell no! I'm not sending my dogs to tangle with a 120 lbs mountain lion!" Even if they teamed it appropriately and took it out, they'd get seriously injured in that fight. No way that I would risk that on my dogs. The lone coyote was one thing, because I knew it wouldn't stick around. It's retreat was inevitable, and the only way it would stick around was if the whole pack was out there, and even then it would be unlikely. Plus, I was out there too, so that coyote incident was virtually risk-free. All we had to do was scare it off to save the golden retriever. A mountain lion would be a whole different thing all together. No thanks!

I never saw that show. I don't think that I've even heard of it, to be honest. Was it any good?

Michael@GetFitwithDogs

Loved watching this with you Dasha! This has been a long favorite of my family. It was a regular pick of mine whenever I would visit my grandma on the weekends. Never dealt with any grizzly bears before, but my house is a regular stop for a mother black bear and her cubs! They loved to stop by and eat up all our bird feed. One morning we came outside to find the pole we have the bird feeders hanging from bent down to the ground. It has been a while since we have last seen the three them.

Do you remember the TV show Gentle Ben? I get the feeling if I ever ran into a bear his name would be Deadly Bob...

Troy Hickman

I'll be leaving them alone, for sure. 😂 Especially brown bears.

Michael@GetFitwithDogs

I wish I had a story about a bear attack or something, but all my experience with bears comes from my visits to Canada, and making the trip from Vancouver to Penticton. It's a very mountainous area, and in the spring you see bears all over the place. I once had a charming moment where I stopped along the highway to watch a huge brown bear that had come out of hibernation and was gobbling up a dandelions to fatten himself back up. They are just fine if you leave them alone.

I don't have any bear stories, as they're very uncommon in Missouri. We only have a small population of black bears. I have 2 Akita dogs, and they were originally bred in Japan to hunt bears. Their job was to run as a pair ahead of the humans, track bears, and then corner the bear, holding it in place until the humans caught up to make the kill. Akitas had to be fearless, large, and powerful to accomplish this. I'm in an Akita Facebook group and I asked if anyone had any bear stories and it turns out a lot of people have said that their Akita "trees" bears - which means they chase them until the bear climbs a tree to escape. One lady sent me a picture of a bear hiding up a tree because her Akita chased it there. The only thing I have is a story about how my Akitas chased off a large coyote that was luring an elderly Golden Retriever into the woods. I saw it happening a couple of winters ago and sent my dogs outside to rescue the Retriever. It was snowy and in the morning. I wasn't dressed yet, so I had to quickly get dressed and then rush outside to help. By the time I got out there the Akitas saw the coyote nose to nose with the old Retriever and they rushed in. That coyote was gone in a flash, running off into the woods. Good thing too, as even a large coyote is maybe 50 lbs. My male, Kinjo, is almost 120 lbs. My female, Yuki, is about 95 lbs. The two of them together would likely defeat an entire pack of coyotes. Don't feel bad for the coyotes, as they're known to take small dogs and cats that are outside unattended.

It's pretty sad when a bear has had more jobs than I have...😉

"I would like a hot dog right now". That's what Dasha said.

Bmac Tattoo

Dasha has reacted to 12 Monkeys, back in September 2023.

Lee Pitman

She probably hasn't seen 12 monkeys, best movie on your list, and young Brad Pitt s in it.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I grew up on this movie.

Great fun reaction, Dasha. The bear was Bart the Bear. He was a trained Kodiak bear (1977 – 2000). Bart appeared in many movies: 1. Windwalker (1981) 2. The Clan of the Cave Bear (1986) 3. Berserker (1987) 4. Benji the Hunted (1987) 5. The Great Outdoors (1988) 6. The Bear (1988) 7. White Fang (1991) 8. The Giant of Thunder Mountain (1991) 9. Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (1993) 10. On Deadly Ground (1994) 11. Legends of the Fall (1994) 12. 12 Monkeys (1995) 13. Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Francisco (1996) 14. Walking Thunder (1997) 15. The Edge (1997) 16. Meet the Deedles (1998)

R.I.P. John Candy. Forgot how much I love this movie. You know, now they have “glamping” which allows you to enjoy nature but with all the comforts of a 4-star hotel. Much more my style.

Doce

I especially love the ending credits when they are dancing to Land of 1000 Dances by Wilson Picket from 1966. Dan Aykroyd really has some moves.

Stuart Guthrie Jr.

I have not seen this movie in a long while! Now if you remember John Hughes who wrote this movie, he also wrote "Ferris Buellers Day off" "Breakfast Club" and "Planes Trains and Automobiles" Just to name a few of his films you watched on your channel!

Thats MR. Baldamort

This is a great choice, and just what I needed today. I can't wait to watch this.
