Patreon Poll: Old School

After watching North By Northwest and Its a Wonderful Life, I couldnt stop thinking how great these movies were. So I wanted to do another poll with old school movies

PS I want to apologize again that this week has been messed up completely with the reactions - First Gremlins took me 145254585 tries to get it right, and all the reactions were delayed. Now I am back to work here to make it all better!

I hope you had a great Christmas!

Last week's winner will be watched over the weekend.

Remember, you can vote for more than 1 movie, and don't worry if the movie you voted for doesn't win! because don't forget, I do 3 movies a week ;)

Lawrence of Arabia. All time classic film.

Tippytoe

For possible future watchalongs, judging by the wacky comedies that Dasha seems to appreciate (lol'ing!) she might enjoy Netflix's "The Wrong Missy" (2020) and "Heartbreakers" (2001), although I see this as streaming only on MGM+. I like the latter which features actors known for their serious roles but are seriously FUNNY in this movie.

ButtercupsTrueLove

I want to quote from "Dr. Strangelove..." so badly but it might spoil the moment if Dasha does a reaction for it.

ButtercupsTrueLove

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly would be a fantastic one for Dasha to react to.

Thomas

Lawrence of Arabia , David Lean directed most of my favorite movies

Raymond Hanlon

You simply need to watch all of them I am afraid Dasha ;)

Terje439

Absolutely! And such a range of movies as well. From the sweetness of Sound of Music to the weirdness of A Clockwork Orange

Terje439

Exactly my thoughts, as well.

Michael@GetFitwithDogs

Butch Cassidy for me. Seeing that makes me realize this channel is missing some classic Westerns, e.g. Unforgiven, Red River, Rio Bravo, High Noon, etc. These are also classic movies.

Doce

These are all must see films. It would be a shame to leave out any one of them. Keep the whole list and space them out.

Lynn VW

Rear Window and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid are my first two. I am so happy she is starting to watch some of the older classics. If they don't win, I hope she comes back to them.

Eddie Perkins

Please watch at least the top 2!

DWG15

Lawrence of Arabia is one of the most gorgeous movies you'll ever see. I also strongly recommend Seven Samurai for a great foreign classic and one of the top ten best movies of all time.

Mark Rude

Oh no, I was dead serious, and I also have some swamp land I would like to sell you...😉

Troy Hickman

Who is going to tell LaserLamb that this never actually happened? 😆

Michael@GetFitwithDogs

At the Hickman family Thanksgiving, the most dangerous thing is the blandness of my mom's food, which could bore you to death...😉

Troy Hickman

We're really choosing which order she should watch them all in! 👍🏻

LaserLamb

A food fight to settle a family dispute, on Thanksgiving, no less. Yeah, that oughta work.🙄

LaserLamb

I'm not familiar with that side of Gene Kelly, or was that a joke? 🤔

LaserLamb

True, but there's also nothing wrong with stretching oneself into new territory! 🌍🌎🌏

LaserLamb

Never thought I'd see a sentence that mentions both those movies side by side! 😂

LaserLamb

Yes, there's the underlying madness throughout, one just has to realize it's a dark satire, with alot to say.

LaserLamb

Dasha, keep on doing what you're doing & you'll be at 100K in January, & 200K by the end of 2025! 💖

LaserLamb

Yes, Dr. Strangelove! Such a unique movie! 🚀

LaserLamb

Yes, but it's still one helluva movie! 👁👁🤯

LaserLamb

bunch of dorks, all of you xD

Thats MR. Baldamort

Yes, please. All of those.

SpiffMan

J'essaie de choisir non seulement les films qui sont géniaux, mais aussi les films que je pense que Dasha aimera le plus en fonction de ce que je sais de ses réactions, j'ai donc choisi les 3 derniers. Rear Window qu'elle adorera.

Robert Jewell

Good God. SPOILER ALERT!

Robert Jewell

The bottom 3 got my vote big time although all the movies on the list are very different in tone. Really hoping Singin' in the Rain will get more love since it is the greatest musical ever made.

Robert Jewell

I love a poll with no wrong choices.

Beddoe

How do you choose with a list like this? These are all top-notch movies and all should be seen by anyone wanting to watch classic movies.

Jeff Barnes

🤣

Michael@GetFitwithDogs

And in a similar manner, Gene Kelly used to dress like a droogie and attack people with a baseball bat! 😉

Troy Hickman

The joke was on him, Michael. If you forced him to eat that block of cheese, he would be constipated for days. But if he forced you to eat the apple, all that would happen is he would be keeping the doctor away from you ..😉

Troy Hickman

Womp womp womp. I'm out of lame jokes for today. 🤣

Michael@GetFitwithDogs

To settle a family dispute on Thanksgiving my brother and I agreed to fight armed with our choice of food. He grabbed an apple - which I assume he meant to throw at me. He laughed when I grabbed a block of cheese, but I warned him this cheddar was extra sharp.

Michael@GetFitwithDogs

Lawrence of Arabia is one of the most grand, epic, and beautiful movies ever put to film. I really hope you get the chance to watch that masterpiece.

Hunter DeRensis

Kinda funny. The main character in A Clockwork Orange sings Singin' in the Rain in the movie.

Labcurmudgeon79

Well... If a Clockwork Orange wins, you'll need mental bandages. Stanley Kubrick movies do that

puppers

Voilà quelques propositions pour d'éventuelles visionnages Éléphant man, The Frighteners, The Sting, Bubba ho-tep, Full monty,Hitcher ( 1986),et à choisir pour ce sondage ça sera Rear Window .

FredLeChouan

Normally I'd say Clockwork Orange. But since you've watched It's a Wonderful Life, I think Rear Window is a good Jimmy Stewart follow up.

Patrick Anderson

Wow, there is not a bad movie on there. Some of the greatest things ever filmed. I may end up voting for all of them. However, as I believe I am a keen observer and a student of Dashography, I'm hoping Rear Window gets it. I think I know what she is talking about as far as enjoying North by Northwest and it's a Wonderful Life, and I think she's most likely to find those qualities in Rear Window (especially given that it stars Jimmy Stewart and is directed by Alfred Hitchcock). I can't wait! (No, I'm not talking about my bladder) 😉

Troy Hickman

More love for the sound of music and clockwork orange plz.

Jeromy M

Dr. Strangelove can be a bit tricky, a lot of it is a more subtle style of humor than most reactors are used to. I truly hope you enjoy it because it's a wonderful classic.

Jordan Love

I would totally vote for it but YT will prob throw a fit with copyright strikes and Dasha will have to remove all the music.

Jordan Love

Ignore the votes and do SINGIN' IN THE RAIN at some point. It's EASILY the best movie in this list but it's a musical so a lot of dudes won't vote for it.

Allan Mott

Write in vote Bridge On The River Kwai !!!

Joseph Powell

Dasha is going to make 100k in 2025!

Thats MR. Baldamort

I never knew I'd see an old school poll where I'd actually have a hard time voting for something because they are all good films. I guess I'd go with Dr Stranglove for obvious reasons lol

JokesterHollywood

These are all good movies. I happen to think a couple are overrated (but still pretty good) and Clockwork Orange is based on a much better book.

Jeff Martens

Write-In Vote: Tora! Tora! Tora!

DE Wyatt

Dasha, dont forget you may want to take one last look at your Elf YouTube edit. none of the clips have unblurred segments so through the entire edit, nobody knows what parts you are nat are reacting to. Other than that, looking forward to this poll and to 2025 Dasha! Edit: I now understand (and forgot) that Dasha more than likely tried to edit this but kept getting copyrighted so the best way was to keep all the clips blurred and only have audio.

Thats MR. Baldamort

Alright, I don’t wanna be greedy but you should watch all of them.

Thomas
