2025-01-01 23:59:22 +0000 UTCI understand that. I never had to deal with the violent side of alcoholism, luckily. My older brother nearly ruined his life from alcohol, but he's now 7 years sober. He basically lost jobs, lost relationships, etc. Not violent, but addicted to the point it interfered with his life. He thought he had anxiety issues and that the drink helped him, but I kept telling him that it wasn't anxiety he was feeling, it was withdraws from alcohol. It went away with consuming alcohol because he was getting his fix. But he's better now and owns his own pizza restaurant. Yay for success stories! 💪

2025-01-01 21:52:10 +0000 UTCI'll have to check out that non-alcoholic beer, as I occasionally buy such things for my elderly father. I'm guessing he would probably prefer a regular beer, but my mom has never allowed alcohol in their house. Her father was the worst kind of alcoholic (when we were little kids, she was afraid he would come back into town, kidnap us, and sell us on the black market, and it was a legitimate worry).

My birthday is coming up this weekend, so after that I'm returning to discipline and will cut out beer again now that the Holidays are over. It was a nice break during the Holidays, but back to the grind! I like this non-alcoholic beer called Partake IPA. It's just 10 calories, 0.5% alcohol, and 0 carbs. It's got a great taste so it works as my beer substitute. I like the taste of beer too much to not do at least that.

I believe that this little spot on the internet can be more fun if the patrons interact more. Not that there is anything wrong with just posting about what movies you want to see or to give Dasha feedback, but personally I thought it would add a new dimension to engage with everyone else.

Regarding beer, I've never been much of a drinker, and these days, because of my dialysis treatments, I'm supposed to limit my fluid intake to about 32 oz a day, so alcohol is really my last concern. On the rare occasion that I have a beer in a social situation or something, I would prefer something light like a Corona.

Not the hit itself, but her face. Her face said it all, and almost made me feel that hit. Who knew there were dangers in being a Reactor. 😲
