Does anyone here like Chess? I do not play competitively, but I do play casually for fun. Assuming that everyone here watches a lot of YouTube, I wanted to suggest following Anna Cramling if you're a fan of Chess. If you're a fan of Dasha, Anna Cramling might also be someone you'd like as well. I do not know if I have ever seen someone with as much positive energy as Anna Cramling. She might be the happiest and most friendly person I have ever seen. While she has a huge channel, I only stumbled upon it by accident while watching some chess videos to help me improve my game. I saw one of her videos and she quickly became one of my favorite creators. Figured I'd share if there are any chess fans here.

2025-06-09 15:26:18 +0000 UTCSpeaking of reactions I couldn't find in your history was Orphan (2009). I am almost positive Dasha reacted to this. I tried to find it again to see Dasha's reaction to Isabelle Fuhrman's Russian accent. I also remember commenting that Isabelle's mother was from Soviet Moldova. Or I could be just losing my mind. Both are equally possible.

2025-05-12 23:22:57 +0000 UTCI recently rewatched Dasha's Inside Out reaction. I know it's been about a year or so since you've seen that but I think good reaction would be to Inside Out 2. I remember how much fun you had with the first one. The second is almost as good imo and I think it would make for a good reaction. Actually I thought you did it already but I couldn't find it in the history.

2025-03-27 16:53:07 +0000 UTCWhat is the coolest thing you guys have seen on YouTube lately? I was searching for videos on "Uncontacted Tribes"; which are humans who have not yet had contact with the modern world and live off grid in the wild. There are very few such tribes left in the world, but it is absolutely fascinating to see what they have to say when they encounter the modern world. There was one video where some tribesmen were shown a bunch of things about the modern world on a laptop as they all gathered around. They were shown the moon landing, opera singing, war, and much more. It was wild to get their perspective on such things. The only thing I didn't like about it was the interviewer/translator's questions. They seemed like leading questions, designed to get a certain type of response rather than just allowing the tribesmen to give their free opinion on things. What things have you all been watching recently?

2025-03-08 20:12:29 +0000 UTCTropic Thunder was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen, and Robert Downey Jr. in blackface was the main reason for it being so hilarious. 🤷♂️

2025-03-08 13:45:00 +0000 UTCI agree, but what does that have to do with how comedic it is?

2025-03-08 04:05:29 +0000 UTCMakes me me think of the song 1985 (yikes, that was released in 2004). " ... when did Ozzy become an actor? ...when did Motley Crue become classic rock? ...and who's that new guy singing in Van Halen?..."

2025-03-08 04:03:46 +0000 UTC'Dazed & Confused', while it is a really great movie & has some funny moments, is not what I'd call a "comedy". Of the 2 others on the list that I've seen, 'The Jerk' is the funniest. But I really wish 'What's Up, Doc?' was on the list. 😕

2025-03-08 02:38:33 +0000 UTCMaybe a bit off-topic, but in regards to White Chicks, “blackface” is currently considered quite racist. However, “whiteface” is deemed okay and not racist? Can someone explain the difference and the hypocrisy?

2025-03-07 17:00:11 +0000 UTCDE Wyatt, You are correct, movies from the 2000's are 16-25 years old and so technically you can call them old school given their age. In my opinion though - like with music - not a whole lot has changed in the last 25 years. If those movies were released today, you couldn't tell that they weren't modern. Imagine if Anchorman was released today. Would it seem out of place, as if from a different era? It is different with movies from the 80's. You can absolutely tell that they're from the 80's, even if they were released today. It would be an interesting discussion to talk about why that is. This is the same thing I say about music. If you took Britney Spears songs from over 20 years ago (such as Toxic) and you released them for the first time today, no one would really be able to tell that the music was over 20 years old. Now imagine if you had a song from 1970's and released it 20 years later. It would CLEARLY be an out of date sound. I'm not saying it wouldn't be good (I prefer music from the 70's & 80's) just that it would clearly be a sound from a different time. Entertainment hasn't really changed all that much in the last 25 years outside of technology and perhaps political correctness. Most entertainment from the past 25 years still seems "modern".

2025-03-07 16:31:19 +0000 UTCThat is a good point. "White Chicks" is not old school. While I do think it would be a movie she would be laughing out loud at the entire way through, it is a bit out of place. Anything 2000 or after probably doesn't fit in the style of old school comedy.
Michael@GetFitwithDogs
2025-03-07 16:20:51 +0000 UTCMy votes are for stripes, the jerk, and Cable Guy.. I think if the category is old school comedy, I would have dropped about half of these, and included stuff like animal House and the Bad News bears.

2025-03-07 16:00:11 +0000 UTCAgree. White Chicks is fucking hilarious. More than that, it is the type of comedy that Dasha will enjoy. Remember, a lot of our "cultural jokes" will go over her head. She discussed this before on here. While we may have personal favorites, it is usually the slapstick or silly comedies that she matches up with best.
