Its why when you watch bands play you'll see the guitaris and bassist every so often step on something right below them. Depending on the guitar there are some knobs on the body itself that can change the tone as well or which pickup is used to transmit the sound (those metalor white bars under the strings below the neck that are perpendicular to the strings). Different pickups have different sounds/volume levels

Generally speaking, G, D, C, A minor, E minor are the easiest chords to play (and the first ones you learn.....like learning a C scale on a piano in the beginning bc there are no black keys) for your left hand. But not all songs are in that key. When you get into flat or sharp chords or anything out side of the G scale you have to use bar chord left hand position which are MUCH harder to play....If you put a capo on, you can play the simpler chords in the easier hand positions but still change the key
